Thales: strategic defence partnership in Australia
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announcef signing a 10-year strategic contract with the Australian government to manufacture ammunition in the country, which will provide several hundred jobs in the Australian states of New South Wales and Victoria.
"The contract valued at over AUD 1 billion is a key pillar in Australia's Sovereign Industrial Capability in munitions and small arms," the French electronics and defence group said.
Thales says that last year it invested 113 million Australian dollars (nearly 70 million euros) with its Australian suppliers for ammunition and small arms, supporting 414 direct jobs in the supply chain.
