Thales: cooperation reinforced with Leonardo on ACCS
(CercleFinance.com) - ThalesRaytheonSystems, a 50-50 aerospace and defense joint venture between Thales and the US group Raytheon, says that it is strengthening its cooperation with the Italian group Leonardo on all of NATO's air traffic control and command system (ACCS) activities.
This cooperation will focus on on-site system support, the deployment of ACCS to new sites, and current site retrofits. It will also enable the ACCS to benefit from several innovations developed by Leonardo.
ACCS has been operational in Italy since March 2015 and the system is in transition in 10 NATO countries. The anti-missile component has been operational since 2012. Once fully deployed, the NATO ACCS will cover 10 million square kilometres of airspace.
