Thales: finalises acquisition of Gemalto
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales announces today that it has finalised the acquisition of Gemalto, a transaction worth 4.
8 billion euros that gives birth to a group that has a new scale, and which is a world leader in digital identity and security.
With Gemalto, Thales will cover the entire critical decision chain in a digital world, from sensor-based data generation to real-time decision-making, the electronics group said.
Thanks to this acquisition, Thales underlined that it is raising its sales to 19 billion euros, its self-financed R&D to one billion euros per year and its workforce to 80,000 people in 68 countries.
