Thales: Mexico and Australia approve merger with Gemalto
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales and Gemalto have announced that they have obtained regulatory approval from the competition authorities in Australia and Mexico.
This authorisation follows Thales' commitment to divest its global business of General Purpose Hardware Security Modules (GP HSM).
Thales and Gemalto have now obtained 11 out of the 14 regulatory authorisations required. They are continuing to actively collaborate with the competence authorities so as to obtain the remaining regulatory authorisations in the US and Russia.
The merger is set to be completed shortly after obtaining all regulatory authorisations, which is expected in the first quarter of 2019, as announced on 11 October.
