Thales: signs contract with Saudi Railway Company.
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales today announces the signing of a two-year contract with the Saudi Railway Company (SAR).
This contract will ensure the maintenance of the signaling, telecommunication and electro-mechanical systems of the North-South Railway (NSR) line.
Thales said that the North-South line of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (NSR) is the longest railway line in the world, which is equipped with the state-of-the-art signaling and telecommunications system, the European Train Control System (ETCS) 2.
The NSR line enable passengers to travel between the capital, Riyadh and Al Haditha (near the Jordanian border), as well as goods between Wa'ad Al Shamal (a phosphate mine in the northernmost province of the country) and Ras Al Khair (Persian Gulf).
