Thales: successful security assessment.
(CercleFinance.com) - Yesterday it was announced that the security assessment of Samsung Pay's contactless payment application, carried out by Thales on the smartphones Galaxy S8 and S8+, has resulted in certification for both devices.
Following security assessments carried out by Thales' teams in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones now accept the secure payment networks of all the main credit cards, such as MasterCard and Visa.
The HCE1 Samsung Pay banking application enables users to save their credit card details on their smartphones, and then use the NFC2 and MST3 contactless systems to make payments at sales outlets.
