Thales: wins ticketing contract for Cairo's metro.
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales announces the signature on 10 June of two new ticketing contracts, to equip 19 new metro stations in Cairo.
These contracts pertain to the extension of line 3 westbound (15 stations) and eastbound (four stations).
The French electronics group will supply 70 automatic ticket sales machines, 177 ticket office machines, 50 portable inspection terminals, as well as 460 next generation automatic access gates.
This equipment will allow for more fluid circulation of users and the passage of many more travellers per minute. The extension of the metro's line 3 will benefit more than four million users.
