Michelin: to build recycling plant in Chile
(CercleFinance.com) - Michelin is to begin building its first tyre recycling plant with Enviro.
This Swedish company has developed a patented technology to recover carbon black, oil, steel and gas from used tyres.
This plant, based in the Antofagasta region of northern Chile, will recycle 30,000 tonnes of civil engineering tyres each year, i.e. nearly 60% of the end-of-life civil engineering tyres used in the country.
Work will begin in 2021, with production set to start by 2023.
Over thirty million dollars will be invested to build this first used tyre processing plant.
