Michelin: creates JV to develop Rubberway
(CercleFinance.com) - Michelin, Continental and SMAG have announced the creation of a joint venture to develop and deploy Rubberway, a smartphone application to map sustainability practices across the natural rubber industry.
Designed to meet the objectives of the Global Sustainable Natural Rubber Platform (GPSNR). Rubberway has already been operational since 2017 - and is already used in some main rubber producing countries, such as Indonesia and Brazil.
The joint venture is expected to begin business before the end of 2019 (subject to validation by the competition authorities). Michelin will bring the rights of use and exploitation, along with its user experience of it on the ground.
