Michelin: presents first connected tyre for aircraft.
(CercleFinance.com) - Michelin and Safran have exclusively presented the the first connected tyre for aircraft at the Paris Le Bourget airshow.
The project, called “PresSense” comprises an electronic pressure sensor installed within the tyre so as to greatly improve and simplify ground maintenance operations.
The electronic sensor gathers information about tyre pressure and transfers this digital data remotely.
The group said that this is “A much simpler process than conventional maintenance which requires manual pressure collection through the wheel valve and a manometer.”
