Imerys: acquisition in Brazil.
(CercleFinance.com) - The industrial specialty minerals group Imerys has announced that it has acquired Micron-Ita, one of Brazil's leading producers of natural micronised calcium carbonates for polymer applications.
As the world leader in carbonates, via this operation Imerys is strengthening its presence in Brazil by expanding its offering to new dynamic market applications (comprised of PVC, coatings and roofing profiles, tubes and connections), the group explained.
The company, which has turnover of about 60 million Brazilian reals (16 million euros), will be consolidated in the carbonates division, which is part of the energy and specialty solutions business.
