Pernod Ricard: H1 net profit down 6%
(CercleFinance.com) - Pernod Ricard has announced a 6% decline in net profit, group share at 966 million euros for the first half of 2020-21, despite a 51 basis points improvement in its underlying operating margin (organic growth).
The spirits giant's sales fell by 8.9% to 4.98 billion euros, with a 3.9% organic decline, including an unfavourable FX impact, although the trend improved in the second quarter compared with the first.
Despite a volatile and uncertain environment, the group said that it expects organic sales growth in FY 2020-21, in particular thanks to the dynamic nature of its three largest markets - the United States, China and India.
