Pernod Ricard: in demand after list of US taxes released
(CercleFinance.com) - The Pernod Ricard share is up 4%, in the CAC40 on Thursday afternoon, steaming ahead, with investors showing their relief after the US authorities published the list of European products affected by new customs duties.
Surprisingly, brandy, champagne and liquors from France have been omitted from the list, and that the general tax of 25% charged on products concerned is lower than feared.
As a reminder, the WTO has just authorized the United States to charge 7.5 billion dollars in import taxes on European goods, in retaliation for European subsidies to Airbus. These will come into effect on 18 October.
