Danone: disposal of Earthbound Farm in US
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday evening, Danone announced the signing of a definitive agreement to sell Earthbound Farm, its organic salads business in the United States, to Taylor farms, a Californian family business specialising in salads and fresh food.
The immediate sale of Earthbound Farm is part of Danone's strategy to optimise its asset portfolio and capital allocation. In 2018 the divested company generated revenues of approximately 400 million dollars.
Created in California in 1984, Earthbound Farm is the largest producer of organic salads in the United States. This company has been part of WhiteWave Foods' portfolio since 2013 - Danone acquired WhiteWave Foods in 2017.
