Danone: new takeover rumours; share rising.
(CercleFinance.com) - Up 1.
6% today, the Danone share is outperforming the CAC 40 towards midday.
The French agri-food giant is currently subject to new takeover rumours.
According to the New York Post, which cites a financial source, a large American group - possibly Kraft or Coca-Cola - would like to acquire Danone. "The French government (will approve this transaction)," the American daily says, quoting a financial source.
Last year the French company bought out WhiteWave for a princely sum of 12.5 billion dollars, the largest acquisition in its history.
After reporting H1 underlying net profit of 1.05 billion euros, reflecting a y-o-y increase of 12.2%, Danone aims to report FY double-digit EPS growth at constant exchange rates.
