Axa: completes acquisition of XL group
(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday AXA announced that, as planned, it has completed the acquisition of XL Group, one of the world leaders in property and casualty insurance and reinsurance.
XL Group has a strong presence in North America, the Lloyd's market, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. The completion of this deal comes after the usual closing conditions were obtained, the agreement from XL Group shareholders and the obtaining of all the regulatory authorisations.
"XL Group, a premier specialty and large corporate P&C platform, complements and diversifies AXA's existing commercial lines insurance portfolio, and its reinsurance capabilities give AXA access to enhanced diversification and alternative capital. The combination of AXA's and XL Group's existing positions propels the Group to the #1 global position in P&C Commercial lines," AXA said in a statement.
