Sanofi: production suspended at Mourenx site
(CercleFinance.com) - Noting Sanofi's immediate suspension of production at its Mourenx site, the government states that the group will have to meet all conditions in terms of emissions and safety so that the government can authorise activity to be resumed.
Samples will be taken and analyses carried out by independent laboratories on the site and in the surrounding area to ensure these terms are satisfied, said the Ministries of Economic Transition and Health in their joint statement.
In April, following a control inspection of ICPE, the State gave formal notice to the company to meet the emission limits of various volatile organic compounds within three months, under penalty of administrative closure.
This plant is also subject to a procedure concerning its releases of sodium valproate into the environment. This is the active ingredient of Dépakine. On 12 July ANSES, ANSM and INERIS will announce their conclusions on the data transmitted by Sanofi.
