Sanofi: EPS below consensus in 2017
(CercleFinance.com) - Sanofi has published 2017 EPS of 5.
54 euros (-0.4% at constant exchange rates), 10 cents short of the market consensus, with sales of 35,055 million euros, up 3.6% as reported and up 5.6% at constant exchange rates.
The pharmaceutical giant says that the annual sales growth of its Sanofi Genzyme (+15.1%), Sanofi Pasteur (+8.3%) and emerging markets (+6%) divisions more than offset the decline in sales at the diabetes and cardiovascular entity (-14.3%).
Sanofi's board of directors has offered a dividend of 3.03 euros, up 2.4%. Sanofi expects 2018 EPS to increase by between 2% and 5% at constant exchange rates, incorporating the expected contribution of acquisitions and barring unforeseen major events.
