Bouygues: develops hydropower plant in Madagascar
(CercleFinance.com) - Colas, Bouygues' road construction subsidiary, alongside Africa50, Jovena and SN Power, announce the development of the Volobe hydropower plant in Madagascar.
The plant is set to be commissioned in 2023.
The project includes, under a 35-year concession contract, the development, construction and operation of a dam and a 120 MW hydroelectric plant
on the river Ivondro, 40 km west of Toamasina, the second largest city in Madagascar.
The project also includes the transmission line, access route and infrastructure for surrounding villages. The project will directly create about 1,000 jobs during the construction phase.
