Bouygues: partnership for FTTH in very dense areas
(CercleFinance.com) - Bouygues Telecom announces a partnership with the Axione/Mirova consortium to deploy a FTTH infrastructure in a very dense area, on the model developed by Axione with local authorities, as part of public initiatives for networks in rural areas.
The operator will therefore complete its FTTH coverage and by the end of 2021 will have access to the entire very dense area (ZTD). At the same time, the deal will bring the total number of fiber optic premises operated and marketed by Axione to 6 million in mainland France.
To this end, Axione and Mirova have created CityFast, an Access service operator dedicated to ZTD, to which Bouygues Telecom cedes its existing fiber optic infrastructure in ZTD, with CityFast guaranteeing it access to this fiber optic network for 30 years.
