Accor: Barclays questions investment in Air France

(CercleFinance.com) - Barclays today says that if Accor Group takes a 14.
3% stake in Air France-KLM, as mentioned by the press, this would be a mistake.

The analyst believes that this would go against Accor's main aims, i.e. the acquisition of hotels to expand in this market, and that the group would not obtain enough benefits to justify the deal.

The broker believes that the company's recent hotel acquisitions are strategically sound, although it questions the logic of such an investment if it were to go ahead, Barclays adds.

In recent years, AccorHotels has said that it has held several discussions with Air France-KLM with a view to developing common digital projects and a common loyalty and service platform, including the possibility of buying a minority stake in the capital of the Franco-Dutch airline.
