Vallourec: invests in Greenfire Energy
(CercleFinance.com) - Vallourec has announced that it has invested in GreenFire Energy, a US start-up developing closed-loop geothermal systems that are based on its GreenLoop technology, with which the French group has been collaborating on several projects since 2019.
The seamless pipe manufacturer says that the deal was completed as part of a Series A funding round, alongside other majority investors Baker Hughes and Helmerich & Payne.
It said that geothermal energy is set to play a major role in the energy transition and the decarbonisation of economies. It is the only renewable source that can provide stable, decarbonised and versatile energy.
