Vallourec: wins contract with Shell joint venture in Egypt.
(CercleFinance.com) - Vallourec has signed a contract with the oil company BAPETCO, a Shell joint venture in Egypt, for the supply of tubular solutions (OCTG) to equip 60 to 70 gas wells of an onshore project in the western desert of Egypt.
The majority of these seamless carbon steel tubes will be produced by Tianda, the new plant acquired by Vallourec in 2016 in China in Chuzhou. The VAM TOP premium thread will be produced at the Vallourec Chinese thread factory in Changzhou.
The production of more complex corrosion-resistant alloy steel tubes, such as 13%Cr and Super 13%Cr, will be produced in the group's European factories in France and Germany.
