L'Oréal: Q1 sales reach E7.55bn (+11.4%)

(CercleFinance.com) - L'Oréal group's sales reached 7.
55 billion euros, up 11.4% as reported in the first quarter of 2019.
On a like-for-like basis, i.e. at a constant consolidation scope and exchange rates, sales growth reached +7.7%.

Sales at the Professional Products Division increased by 2.2% like-for-like and were up 4.8% as reported. In the first quarter, the Consumer Products Division posted +3.3% like-for-like growth and +7.0% as reported.

At end-March, L'Oréal's Luxury division posted +14.2% like-for-like (+19.0% as reported). The Active Cosmetics Division confirmed its acceleration by posting a new quarter of double-digit growth, at +13.0% like-for-like growth (+14.1% as reported).

"As anticipated, the powerful underlying growth drivers remain the same as in 2018: Luxe and Active Cosmetics, skincare, Asia, e-commerce and Travel Retail. Furthermore, the performance by Division and Zone remains contrasted in a market itself very contrasted,"said Jean-Paul Agon, L'Oréal's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
