L'Oréal: appoints new CFO

(CercleFinance.com) - Yesterday evening the French cosmetics giant L'Oreal announced two appointments to its executive committee.


First, Christophe Babule, who has worked at the group since 1988, will become Executive Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer and member of L'Oréal's Executive Committee as of mid-February 2019. He will replace Christian Mulliez, who held this position for seventeen years, along with the role of Vice-President of the group. Mr. Babule will report to Chairman and CEO, Jean-Paul Agon.

Mulliez "has expressed his desire to take a step back from his professional activity for personal reasons," the company said.

In practice, there will be a transition phase, during which Mr. Mulliez will accompany Mr. Babule until his departure from L'Oréal, will occur until the end of April 2019. Mr. Mulliez " will hand over his operational responsibilities to Christophe Babule after the annual financial analysts meeting in February 2019."

In addition, the group has announced the appointment of Cyril Chapuy as President L'Oréal Luxe and member of the Group's Executive Committee as of 1 January 2019. He will succeed Nicolas Hieronimus, deputy CEO in charge of divisions on and will report to Nicolas Hieronimus.
