Total: 1st floating wind farm project in France
(CercleFinance.com) - Total announces that it is entering the floating offshore wind farm sector in France, by becoming a 20% shareholder of the Eolmed floating wind farm pilot project in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Gruissan and close to Port-La-Nouvelle, a project in which the major shareholder is Qair.
The energy giant contributes its experience in design, deployment and operation of offshore marine installations across their entire lifecycle to this 30-megawatt project, attributed in July 2016.
“Together with our partner Qair, we have the necessary resources to meet the technological and financial challenges that will determine our future success” declared Julien Pouget, Director Renewables at Total.
