Total: partnership for windfarms in South Korea
(CercleFinance.com) - Total and Green Investment Group, a subsidiary of the Macquarie group, have announced a 50/50 partnership to develop five floating offshore windfarm projects in South Korea, representing a potential cumulative capacity of over two gigawatts (GW).
Wind measurement campaigns have started on each of the five sites off the eastern and southern coasts of the country. The partners aim to launch the first project of about 500 megawatts by the end of 2023.
Subject to the lifting of conditions precedent and approval from competition authorities, the partnership will become effective in the autumn of 2020. It will contribute to Total's target of achieving CO2 neutrality by 2050.
