Total: completes split of Sunpower into two companies
(CercleFinance.com) - Total has announced that its subsidiary SunPower has finalised the creation of two independent companies, first announced last November: i.
e. SunPower (decentralised solar generation) and Maxeon Solar Technologies (manufacture of high-yield solar panels).
At the same time, Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor (TZS), a long-term partner of SunPower, will take a minority stake in Maxeon Solar Technologies through a capital increase of 298 million dollars.
The French energy group remains a majority shareholder of SunPower, with a 51.7% stake and Maxeon Solar Technologies' main shareholder with 34.6% (meanwhile, TZS holds over 28.8% of the capital).
