Total: launches largest battery storage in France
(CercleFinance.com) - As part of its strategy to develop stationary energy storage, which is key for the development of renewable energy, Total is beginning to build a battery energy storage project in Mardyck within the Etablissement des Flandres, located in the port of Dunkirk.
This lithium-ion storage system will be the largest in France. It will have a storage capacity of 25 megawatt hours (MW/h) and a power of 25 MW.
The storage site represents an investment of around 15 million euros. It is set to be commissioned at the end of 2020. It will use Saft's Intensium Max 20 High Energy solution.
