Total: in talks with ADP in Spain
(CercleFinance.com) - Total could buy the customer portfolio of the Portuguese group ADP in Spain according to El confidential.
This acquisition would enable Total to enter into direct competition with Endesa, Iberdrola, Naturgy and Respson El confidential says. EDP is the 4th largest distributor in the country with 1.17 million customers in the electricity sector and 0.9 million customers in gas, Aurel BGC says.
Total may also be interested in buying EDP's gas power plant in Spain.
Also, remember that last February Total entered the solar market with a portfolio of 2 GV of projects in Spain: it signed two agreements with Powertis and Solarbay Renewable Energy to develop this project.
The group will create a joint venture with Powertis for an initial project portfolio of 800 MW. It will also acquire a 1.2 GW project portfolio from Solarbay.
