Total: solar power plant inaugurated in New Caledonia
(CercleFinance.com) - Total Quadran, a wholly-owned Total subsidiary dedicated to the production of renewable electricity, announces that it has commissioned the Hélio Boulouparis 2 plant, the largest solar power station with storage in French overseas teritories.
This is the second tranche of a photovoltaic park constituting the largest solar program ever made in New Caledonia. Its first tranche, Hélio Boulouparis 1, was put on stream in 2017.
Having over 58,000 panels, the facility has an installed capacity of nearly 16 MWp, enabling it to cover the needs of more than 21,000 people. The plant will be equipped with a lithium-ion energy storage system with a capacity of nearly 10 MW.
