Total: finalises acquisition in Mozambique
(CercleFinance.com) - Total has announced that it has finalised the acquisition of Anadarko's 26.
5% (operator) stake in the Mozambique LNG Project for 3.9 billion dollars, after receiving the necessary approvals from competent authorities and partners.
This acquisition comes after the agreement reached on 3 May with Occidental to acquire Anadarko's assets in Africa (Mozambique, Algeria, Ghana and South Africa) and the signing of the definitive purchase and sale agreement on 3 August.
As the first onshore development of an LNG plant in the country, Mozambique LNG includes the development of the Golfinho and Atum fields, as well as the construction of two liquefaction trains that have a total capacity of 12.9 million tonnes per year.
