Total: strategic partnership with IFPEN
(CercleFinance.com) - Total and IFP Energies Nouvelles (IFPEN) announces the signature of a strategic partnership to accelerate R&D on the reduction of CO2 emissions.
The agreement is for carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) and for technologies to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere. It is for a duration of 5 years and for an amount of approximately 40 million euros.
Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of Total declared: “We want to pool our innovation capabilities to reduce the cost of CCUS technologies and improve their efficiency — both of which are necessary for large-scale deployment. Total wants to help make the planet carbon neutral and boost the competitiveness of an industrial-scale CCUS sector”.
