Total: Mitsui joins Eren wind farm project
(CercleFinance.com) - Total Eren, the French oil major's renewable energy division, this morning announces that its Japanese wind power company Mitsui & Co is taking a 34% stake in its first wind farm project in Argentina.
The financial terms of the deal have not been revealed.
Called "Vientos los Hercules," the power station project is located in the province of Santa Cruz, in southern Argentina. For the moment, it is being built and has a production capacity of 97.2 megawatts (MW), considering that in Argentina Total Eren currently has a total gross installed capacity of 180 MW in solar and wind projects that are in operation or being built.
When it is commissioned, which is scheduled for mid-2019, "Vientos los Hercules" should produce enough electricity to supply about 110,000 homes.
