Total: Yamal LNG begins gas exports
(CercleFinance.com) - Total today announces that the second liquefaction train at the Yamal LNG plant in northern Russia has produced its first shipment of liquefied natural gas.
Total says that this is, "ready to leave Sabetta," the village where the plant is found.
"This train adds an additional 5.5 million tons per year of LNG capacity to the facility, bringing the total capacity in operation to 11 million tons per year. At full capacity, the three-train facility will supply 16.5 million tons of LNG per year to Asian and European markets," Total said.
The third liquefaction train is scheduled to start in early 2019.
