Total: 19% of dividend balance paid in shares
(CercleFinance.com) - Total announces that at the end of the option period that was open from 11 to 20 June inclusive, 19% of rights were exercised in favour of the payment of the balance of the group's 2017 dividend in shares.
Thus, 5,798,335 new shares will be issued at a price of 52.03 euros.
The settlement and delivery of shares and their admission to Euronext Paris will occur on 28 June. To avoid any dilution, over the quarter, the oil group will repurchase these newly issued shares prior to their cancellation.
The balance of the 2017 dividend to be paid in cash to shareholders who have not opted for payment in shares amounts to 1,328 million euros, which will also be paid as from 28 June.
