Total: strengthens presence in Gulf of Mexico
(CercleFinance.com) - Total has announced that it has signed an agreement with Samson to acquire Samson Offshore Anchor, LLC, which has a 12.
5% stake in four blocks covering the Anchor discovery in the US section of the Gulf of Mexico.
This deep offshore transaction also includes a 12.5% stake in the nearby Green Canyon 761 exploration block, in which the French oil and gas company already has a 25% stake.
Discovered in the theme of Wilcox in 2014, Anchor is found about 225 kilometres from the coast of Louisiana, at a water depth of over 1,500 metres. It is operated by Chevron (55%) alongside Cobalt (20%) and Venari (12.5%).
