Carrefour: stock down slightly, stops talks with Auchan
(CercleFinance.com) - The Carrefour share is down slightly this morning after Auchan stopped negotiations on the group's capital.
Carrefour has refused a takeover by Auchan, according to Les Echos this morning: Auchan group has proposed a public exchange offer at a price of 21.50 euros per share, the paper says.
Carrefour's strategic committee has studied Auchan's proposal one last time after five months of negotiations, reports Les Echos.
According to the daily, Alexandre Bompard would have effectively stumbled on the determination of the exchange parities, and on the difficulty to estimate the value of the assets of an unlisted family owned group.
