Carefour: outlook hardly encouraging
(CercleFinance.com) - Published on Wednesday after trading, Carrefour's FY 2017 revenues came in at 88,24 billion euros, up 2.
7% at constant currencies and up 1.6% at constant stores.
In Q4, the French retail giant saw its revenue reach nearly 23.33 billion euros, up 2.3% at constant currencies (+1.9% at constant stores).
However, Carrefour said it had a "difficult" year in 2017, with "a fiercer competitive environment".
By geographical area, the group saw revenues increase by 1.3% in Europe to 23.57 billion euros over the year, while comparable growth slowed in Latin America (+6.1%, against +13.5% in 2016, to 18.02 billion euros) and that there was another fall in Asia (-3.7 % to 6.56 billion euros, after-5% in 2016).
