Air Liquide: Moody's upgrades rating to A2
(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide welcomes the decision by Moody's credit rating agency to upgrade its long-term credit rating to "A2" from "A3" and its short-term rating to "P1" from "P2".
Both these ratings have "stable" outlooks.
Moody's highlights Air Liquide's stable and resilient earnings and cash flow. In particular the upgrade of the short-term rating reflects its strong liquidity profile.
The upgrade comes after the March 2022 announcement of Air Liquide's strategic plan through to 2025, called ADVANCE. The company has committed itself to significant increases in capex while maintaining a particularly strong balance sheet.
Air Liquide said that Moody's decision follows Standard & Poor's decision to upgrade its credit ratings on Air Liquide. This decision acknowledges that the group's debt level has been reduced in five years to the level prior to the Airgas acquisition in 2016.
