Air Liquide: agreement to buy solar energy in Italy
(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide has signed a ten-year contract with Shell Energy Europe Limited (SEEL) to purchase renewable energy to power industrial and medical gas production in northeastern Italy.
For a period of ten years from 2023, it will purchase 52 gigawatt-hours of renewable energy generated by solar power plants in Italy from Shell Energy Europe annually, avoiding the emission of approximately 24,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The French industrial gas supplier has already signed renewable energy purchase agreements in several countries such as the US, Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium, in line with its sustainability objectives.
