JCDecaux: to electrify Villo! in Brussels
(CercleFinance.com) - The group JCDecaux announced on Thursday evening that its subsidiary JCDecaux Belgique has signed an agreement with the government of Brussels on the electrification of a third of the 5,000 self-service bicycles in the area, Villo!
This will also provide a renewed service to users of the self-service bicycle system, present in the 19 municipalities of the Brussels Capital Region.
The first Vilo! electric assistance will arrive in the spring of 2019.
"These innovations will be 100% financed by JCDecaux with the digitisation of one third of the advertising street furniture units included in the Villo! contract across the 19 districts of Brussels. These digital displays will also allow the districts and region to broadcast public information in real time and advertisers to deliver contextualised and geo-located communications," JCDecaux details.
