JCDecaux: very positive feedback for Vélo'v
(CercleFinance.com) - Two months after the deployment - in just one night - of 4000 new Vélo'v bicycles in the Lyon metropolitan area, the launch of an official mobile app and the opening of the long-term bicycle rental service, Myvélo'v, JCDecaux today announces that it is preparing "a Very positive initial assessment" of the extension of the Vélo'v offer.
JCDecaux now has 75,665 inhabitants who have subscribed to the Vélo'v service, representing an increase of 10% since May 2018. The number of average rentals per day is also increasing; from +6% over the first three weeks of September 2018 compared to the same period of 2017. Almost 40,000 rentals were recorded on 20 September, or 12 rentals per day and per bike, JCDecaux said.
In addition, 60% of the bicycles are taken directly from the official application, without going through terminals. Finally, MyVélo'v, the rental of bicycles with long-term electric assistance has also passed its experimental phase with flying colours: the first 100 bikes are now all rented, 60% of which with annual subscriptions, JCDecaux said.
