(CercleFinance.com) - The Scandinvian airline SAS has chosen CFM International, the joint venture between GE and France's Safran, to supply engines to power an order for 35 A320neo aircraft.
The Scandinavian airline said the agreement also includes eight spare engines and a support agreement to cover a new fleet of CFM LEAP-1A engines, including spare parts, as well as 15 additional A320neo aircraft on lease.
The carrier - which aims to reduce its CO2 emissions by 25% by 2025 - said the agreement is part of its strategy to choose efficient engines for its fleet.
SAS - which currently operates 44 A320neo and one A321neo LR equipped with LEAP engines - said it expects to increase its A320neo fleet to 80 aircraft with its latest orders.
