Safran: new carbon brake plant near Lyon
(CercleFinance.com) - The group has announced the creation of a new aircraft carbon brake plant in the commune of Feyzin in the Lyon region.
Carbon brakes are currently manufactured across three sites: the legacy site in Villeurbanne which is also the global research centre for friction materials, the one in Walton in Kentucky (USA) and the one in Sendayan (Malaysia).
“Carbon brakes by Safran are already used on more than 10,000 airplanes deployed by some 500 airlines worldwide. Our new plant will feature an innovative modular design, allowing it to develop in line with market requirements over the coming decades”, underlines Jean-Paul Alary, CEO of Safran Landing Systems.
