Safran: wins USD 3.2bn order for CFM

(CercleFinance.com) - Late on Monday Safran announced that Viva Air, a low-cost airline based in Colombia and Peru, has chosen CFM (a joint venture between Safran and GE), to power its new Airbus A320 fleet, in an order that has a catalogue price of 3.
2 billion dollars.

"The order... includes LEAP-1A new engines to power 35 A320neo aircraft, CFM56-5B new engines to power 15 A320ceo aircraft, and an aftermarket support contract for the LEAP-1A engines." Safran said.

The delivery of the A320ceo began in 2018 and the first A320neo is scheduled for delivery in 2020.
