Safran: Goshawk Aviation orders LEAP-1A engine
(CercleFinance.com) - CFM International, an aircraft engine joint venture between Safran and GE, announces a contract with Goshawk Aviation Limited for the acquisition of LEAP-1A engines that will equip 12 new Airbus A320neo aircraft.
This order has an estimated value of 350 million euros at list prices.
The leasing company became a client of CFM International last July, signing its first order at the Farnborough Air Show in the UK for LEAP-1B engines for 20 new Boeing 737 MAX 8s.
CFM International points out that 86 companies currently operate over 600 LEAP-equipped aircraft on five continents. The LEAP engine enables operators to reduce their fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 15%.
