Safran: inaugurates new facilities in China

(CercleFinance.com) - The joint venture between Air China and CFM International, Sichuan Services Aero Engine Maintenance Company (SSAMC) has inaugurated new facilities that have a total surface area of 43,880 square metres, hence bringing its maintenance, repair and overhaul capacity for CFM56 and LEAP engines to 300 units per year, it was learned this Friday afternoon.


Located in the Chengdu Free Trade Zone, the new facilities benefit from the latest standards in terms of configuration and equipment. They make this maintenance site the largest in Asia for the CFM engine range.

SSAMC was officially founded in 2010 as a joint venture that was 60%- owned by Air China and 40%-owned by CFM. Since then, the company has serviced some 1,000 CFM56-3, CFM56-5B and CFM56-7 engines for over 40 clients in China and Asia.
