(CercleFinance.com) - CFM International, the 50/50 joint venture between GE and Safran Aircraft Engines, boasts a total of 3, 344 engine orders made in 2017 for both its CFM56 and LEAP product families.

These orders include 474 CFM56 engines (commercial, military and spare parts) and 2,870 LEAP engines (including ordering intentions and spare parts). Total production remains at historic levels, with 1,444 CFM56 and 459 LEAP delivered in 2017.

"It was the second highest year for LEAP engine orders in the program's history, and we are producing engines at a rate never before seen in commercial aviation," said Gael Méheust, president and CEO of CFM International.
