Safran: creation of a new company with Air France.
(CercleFinance.com) - Safran and Air France KLM announce the creation of their new joint venture: Airfoils Advanced Solutions.
Airfoils Advanced Solutions is held by Safran Aircraft Engines (51%) and AIR France KLM (49%), which will invest more than 20 million euros in the new venture.
The two groups have begun construction of a new engine component repair facility, of close to 15 000 m2 in the north of France, which will in time create over 200 jobs.
This venture will take care of repairs of CFM International's CFM56 which powers the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737, GE's GE90 powering Boeing 777 and Engine Alliance's GP7200 powering the Airbus A380.
